2023 Wrapped – MFA in Creative Writing & Literary Translation

It’s been a good year for the QC MFA Program!

Professor Kimiko Hahn won the Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize, the lifetime achievement award from the Poetry Foundation & Poetry Magazine

Professor Nicole Cooley had an essay about the Barbie Dream House and the rising popularity of miniatures in The Guardian

The Los Angeles Review of Books published a little throwback feature on Professor Briallen Hopper’s first book Hard to Love

MFA alum Ariel Francisco had a new poem in The New Yorker, and MFA alum Jasper Lo published his first piece as a staff writer at The New Yorker

Rebecca Suzuki’s award-winning hybrid chapbook, When My Mother Is Most Beautiful, was published this December by Hanging Loose Press

MFA alum Todd Sullivan was nominated for a Pushcart Prize

And many of our alums appeared as part of the Brooklyn Book Festival
